Big netball battles

Blackman and Gollop “A” had the greatest offensive output today as the Pine Hill Dairy-sponsored National Sports Council’s Primary Schools Netball Competition continued at the Briar Hall, Christ Church hardcourt today.

Blackman and Gollop “A” defeated Christ Church Girls 15-0 with goal-shoot Danesha Davis netting 12 goals from 15 attempts and T’shanne Payne scoring three from five attempts. Blackman and Gollop led 7-0 at half-time.

There was generally high-scoring, if one-sided match-ups at Briar Hall, with Vauxhall Primary beating St Christopher Primary 10-0 and then dishing out a 11-0 flogging of St Bartholomew’s. In both games it was the dynamic duo of Aanya Cox and Naima Smith who were the main weapons of Vauxhall. Against St Christopher Cox had six goals from seven attempts and Smith had four from five attempts.

Smith was lethal against St Bartholomew’s scoring seven goals from seven attempts while Cox had four goals from five attempts.

Wilkie Cumberbatch were also in action at Briar Hall where they defeated St Christopher 7-1. Torian Newton was a perfect seven from seven attempts with Rebecca Simpson netting two of her three attempts at goal. Shania Clarke netted the solitary goal for St Christopher.

 In further action at Bagatelle, St Thomas, West Terrace were the dominant school dishing out beatings on Welches Primary and St Stephen’s Primary. Against the latter they won 10-1 with Roshea Williams scoring five of her six attempts at goal while goal-shoot Azariah Coombs-Griffith had five goals from eight attempts. Their offensive output against Welches was fewer with the 4-2 scoreline showing how evenly matched the teams were. Williams managed one goal from two attempts and Coombs-Griffith had three from five attempts. Janae Stuart scored both of Welches’ goals.

Welches Primary were better against Good Shepherd Primary whom they defeated  7-0 with goal-attack Shakera Griffith scoring all the goals from 13 attempts.

St Silas also got the better of Good Shepherd with a 3-1 result with a goal for Alicia Samuels and two for Jerralyn Morris, while Aleah Ellis scored for Good Shepherd.

Celina Leslie with three goals from four attempts and Nerissa Dyer with a goal from three attempts led St Stephen’s Primary to 4-2 win over St Silas Primary with Morris scoring the two goals from the two attempts she made.
