Fifteen netballers have been selected by the Barbados Netball Association for a warm-up series against Jamaica in that island from June 19 to 23.
The series will serve as further preparation for the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Barbados recently played a warm-up series against St Lucia which they won 3-0 but are expected to meet stiffer competition against the traditional regional netball powerhouses.
The Barbados selectees are Latonia Blackman (captain), Rhe-Ann Niles (vice-captain), Laurel Browne, Shonica Wharton, Nikita Piggott, Shannon Hackett, Sabreena Smith, Samantha Browne, Damisha Croney, Kizzy Marville, Shonette Bruce, Jeneice Clarke, Shanice Rock and Shanice Wharton.
The Jamaican squad announced is Romelda Aiken, Shanice Beckford, Nicole Dixon, Jhaniele Fowler-Reid, Thristina Harwood, Shantal Slater, Deneen Taylor, Sasher-Gaye Henry, Patricia McCalla, Paula Thompson, Khadijah Williams, Kasey Evering, Stacian Facey, Malysha Kelly, Kadene Marshall, Nicole Aiken-Pinnock, Shamera Sterling and Vangelee Williams.
