Blackman propels Brittons Hill to win

Latonia Blackman was exceptional with a perfect score of 29 goals from 29 attempts for Brittons Hill who trounced Elite 60-36 when the Barbados Workers Union's League Series continued last night at the Netball Stadium. 

Brittons Hill commanded the match from start to finish and after the first three quarters the score read 18-10, 39-23 and 51-30.

The Blackman sisters as usual dominated in the shooting circle with Nadia also netting 24 goals from 36 attempts as goal-shooter. There were also contributions from goal-attacks Sabrina Smith with five goals and Delicia Murrell, two. 

Vanessa Reid-Cox put in a good effort with 23 goals from 28 attempts at the goal-shooter position but did not receive the kind of help needed as none of the other shooters got into double figures.

Also at the Netball Stadium Avengers defeated Chickmont Ballers 45-37 with the scores at the quarters being 13-6, 22-11 and 31-25. 

Avengers' goal-attack Shanice Banfield was brilliant with an individual tally of 30 goals from 40 attempts and goal-shooter Tanya Watts netted 14 off 17 attempts. Top-scoring for Chickmont was Cassandra Brathwaite with 21 points. Avengers also came out on top when they destroyed Lester Vaughan School Combined 36-5 with the scores at the breaks reading 7-2, 17-4, 29-5. 

In other games played St James Stilettoes crushed Rapid Response 30-17 (5-4, 14-6, 21-12). Goal-attack Shaneta Spencer had 17 goals and goal-shooter Jeneatha Craig netted ten for Stilettoes. For Rapid Response goal-shooter Shakera Thompson scored 11 goals.

The game between Fruta Police Girls and Elite ended 25-25 (6-6, 14-9, 21-15). Bryden Stokes took a comfortable win against St Phillip Gems 32-24 (9-6, 19-10, 28-18)
