Hilda Skeene Primary’s goal attack appears a tad far from the goal but at least she has ball possession in the match-up against St Philip Primary.

The action among the youngsters was keen today as the Pine Hill Dairy-sponsored Primary Schools Netball Competition got underway in two zones at King George V Memorial Park, St. Philip and Speightstown, St. Peter respectively.

The early stages of the competition will continue in rally form as played earlier in the week during the Aileen Jeffers Memorial Rally at the Netball Stadium.

In St. Philip, St. Martin’s Mangrove played unbeaten defeating Reynold Weekes 7-1 with Ashne Marshall scoring three goals from seven attempts and Brianna Harvey four goals from seven attempts, while Denica Haynes scored the only goal for Reynold Weekes.

St. Martin’s Mangrove also defeated St. Philip’s Primary 13-2 with Marshall again leading the offence with eight goals from 12 attempts andHarvey five goals from eight attempts.

For St. Philip’s Primary Tianna Wickham and Sabrena Cole scored a goal each.†In other games Hilda Skeene defeated St. Philip’s Primary 4-1 with Aaliyah Small netting a perfect four goals from four attempts. Cole scored St. Philip’s lone goal.

Hilda Skeene were again in winners’ row when they defeated St. Mark’s 5-1 with Small scoring seven goals from nine attempts and Ranesha Greaves one goal from her only attempt. Charina Coppin scored for St. Mark’s.

Reynold Weekes got on the winners’ column when they won 3-1 over St. Mark’s with Raynesha Leon scoring two goals from five attempts and Denica Haynes having one goal from her only attempt.The match-up between St. Mark’s and St. Philip Primary ended in a 2-2 draw. Wickham and Cole had a goal each for St. Philip Primary while Coppin scored St. Mark’s two goals.Boscobel Primary were the dominant force in the north of the island at Speightstown.

They defeated All Saints Primary 5-1 with Emisha Barrow scoring one goal from three attempts and Alika Rouse four goals from five attempts. Akea Barton scored All Saints Primary’s goal.

Boscobel also beat Half Moon Fort 6-3 with Barrow netting five goals from six attempts and Rouse one from two. Shye Skeete had two goals from three attempts and Thealla Armstrong one goal from two tries for Half Moon Fort.Boscobel also had their way with Gordon Greenidge Primary defeating them 8-5. Rouse took the lead role at goal attack netting six goals from seven attempts while Kayla Hurley had two goals from seven attempts.

Aaliyah Francis had four goals from six attempts and Reyann Cadogan one goal from two tries.Half Moon Fort’s only obstacle was Boscobel as they had an otherwise productive morning in St. Peter. They won over Roland Edwards 6-2 with Skeete and Armstrong scoring three goals apiece from five and six attempts respectively.

Salisa Hope and Riann Yearwood had one goal each.Half Moon Fort also won over Ignatius Byer, 7-1; and St. Lucy Primary 10-2. In other results, Roland Edwards beat Ignatius Byer 5-1; Ignatius Byer beat St. Lucy Primary 3-1; All Saints Primary edged Gordon Greenidge 4-3; Gordon Greenidge blanked St. Lucy Primary 8-0; and no one scored in the game between All Saints and Roland Edwards.
