St Giles win again

St Giles Primary remain unbeaten in the Kathy Harper Hall/Agnes Crichlow Zone of the ongoing Pine Hill Dairy-sponsored National Sports Council's Primary Schools Netball Tournament.

The former queens were victorious 7-1 over Belmont Primary today at the Netball Stadium where six other games were contested. St Giles had a 5-0 advantage at half-time and went on to win thanks to goal-attack Serena Edwards who led the way with five goals from nine attempts and Shamarla Wickham two off six. Tia Spellen played goal-attack for Belmont and accounted for their lone goal of the match.

George Lamming Primary was also victorious against Hindsbury Primary and St Winifred's respectively. St Winifred's played well but coming on to the end of the game they were edged 4-3 with goal-shooter Tionie Waldron and goal-attack Dominique Blenman netting two goals each. Goal-shooter for St Winifred's Charlotte Howard had two goals and goal-attack Kelsey Pitcher, one.

They then got the better of Hindsbury 5-3 with Waldron at goal-shoot scoring four and goal-attack Blenman, one. Hindsbury's goal-shooter Maria Lane Griffith had two goals and goal-attack Latavia Hazell-Codrington, one.

Westbury Primary also had a reason to smile after defeating Lawrence T Gay Primary 4-2.  Goal-attack Abianna Burrowes scored four goals from seven attempts while goal-shooter Gineva Alleyne had the two for Lawrence T Gay.

Deacons Primary were also on the losing end against Westbury Primary 3-1 with goal-shooter Tashaunte Weekes having a perfect score of two from two and goal-attack Burrowes one from five. Deacon's goal-shooter Nyrobi Alleyne was the only player to put the ball through the hoop once.

Deacons in their second match against St Winifred's had something to cheer about with a 1-0 win while St Mary's Primary won 4-3 over Lawrence T Gay Primary.
